CMHA - Calgary Region Annual Report

In 2009/2010 we

  • expanded our Supportive Living apartment program by 37 units
  • participated in the Canmore to Calgary leg of Mel's Ride for Mental Health, which donated $18,000 to CMHA - Calgary and Edmonton
  • were awarded over $85,000 through the Calgary Herald Christmas Fund for Supportive Living and Street Outreach and Stabilization

A few things we have accomplished in 2008/2009:

  • CMHA National Staff Award given to the Street Outreach and Stabilization team.
  • Completed the Workplace Wellness programs "What's up with Biff?"and "Copernican Shifts, Building Frameworks for Mental Health"
  • Hosted the 4th annual Survivors of Suicide Day and 2nd annual Out of the Darkness Memorial

A few things we have accomplished in 2007/2008:

  • Added new services and programs to help empower individuals and families challenged by mental health issues.
  • My Mental Health campaign was implemented.
  • Held two successful fundraising events, Mat's Ride and Fish & Chips Golf Tournament.

A few things we accomplished in 2006/2007:

  • Launched a large scale Alberta-wide public awareness campaign
  • Helped address Calgary’s homeless and housing crisis
  • Celebrated Mental Health Week with the launch of a new website, www.mymentalhealth.ca

A few things we accomplished in 2005/2006:

  • Celebrated CMHA - Calgary Region’s 50th Anniversary.
  • Hosted Survivors of Suicide Day.
  • Successfully held the First Annual Fish & Chips Golf Tournament & Fly-Fishing Derby in partnership with Horizon Housing Society. The event raised $75,000 for affordable housing and programs.
